Getting a new necktie case house or apartment is wonderful. You get to expand, settle into a new place, meet new neighbors, get to know all the shops in your neighborhood. You may find some specialty shops that you didn't even know existed. You might meet some friends that will turn out to be wonderful people who will have your back for life. However, there's a huge chasm of potential doom between where you are and where you want to go. And that is moving. Nobody likes moving. Your friends don't want to help no matter how much pizza you buy them. Even the moving guys at the moving company get upset when the phone rings. Those are definitely people who do not love their jobs. Would you? That's why you've got to see moving for what it is.
A horrible chore that you've got to simply get done. Take your time, don't rush, and make sure you don't break anything. But it goes much deeper than that. Because most people are closely tied into their possessions, you'll need to make sure you get them safely from point A to point B. Many people don't realize the dangers that are involved in this. So, the first thing you'll need to do is buy some boxes. That's right. Don't go down to the grocery store and see if you can get some for free. Now's not the time to cut corners. Get boxes, and as much stuff to keep your stuff from breaking as possible. Newspapers, those white peanuts, and perhaps some bubble wrap. When you pack your boxes, make sure to take your time. Don't rush. Many people start packing about an hour before you move. This isn't enough time. You need to give yourself at least a week. And when you pack boxes, take the time to label them. Don't write something like "kitchen" on there.
You're going to end up with twenty boxes marked "kitchen" and not know where any of them go. The next thing is to get a good moving van or cargo van. Many people try and borrow trucks and big cars from their friends. This is also a mistake. Without sufficient space in the car, you might be tempted to stuff your boxes or cars more full than you would otherwise. And this can invite danger and calamity. Take the time to pack. Take the time to label your boxes. Get a good vehicle. Take the time to fill it properly. When you do all this, your move will go easy, and nobody will get hurt, and none of your stuff will break.
